It seems that whenever I plan to work on the Haarlem, something crops up!
I had just started work on the verschansing, when a very big distraction visited the scheepswerf in Nantong! So big that it took up most of my time last week, and that there was little time left for anything else. Nevertheless, I have made some small progress - so small that I actually feel guilty about - but here goes.
Die verschansing aan die stuurboordkant is ten minste afgehandel. Even though it doesn't look like much, it is quite a time-consuming job. Each of those little spars has to be very carefully measured, cut to size (I use an X-Acto knife for that) and then glued into just the right spot. Of course the railing now needs to go on top of that, but I think I will first do the other side.
I also finished the 6 rolpaarden just so that I can get some idea of placement and of how it looks. Before the time, I was absolutely sure that they need to go into the "kuil", but theI also placed them on the bakdek and they look good to me there too. So tell me what you think. The first picture is in the kuil and the second one on the bakdek.

er komt nog heel veel te staan op het bakdek ook veel touwwerken denk niet dat je kanonnen daar wel goed staan ik zou ze zeker in de kuil zetten .
je hebt al kanonnen in de bak staan en als je e ook nog op de bak zet dan kom je ook in de problemen met je weeflijnen want ze moeten geschrankt staan
