Due to the heatwave I can't use my normal workshop, luckily I have a smaller one underneath which is 10 degrees cooler. So managed to get a bit done. It's not as well equipped so I have keep going up the steps and grabbing what I need quickly .
Reinvented the water pickup , a tube will come from the stator and connect to the tube sticking out.

I have jb welded all the insides to one half , so soon be able to fix the halves together. I tried Robins idea to brush cyano inside the gearbox to seal it well it worked a treat, I ruined three brushes doing it, but it was worth it, you have to get it on quick, in a minute it's dried to a glossy finish.

 

Once this works out behind a boat, I will help you to create a better stator-housing for better performance!

Today I can put oil in the gearbox, but waiting for the motor to be delivered

Following close behind the V C jet outboard
Great progress today with the V C jet, I even ran it in a bowl of water, see photo, it was meant to be a video but that's what happens when you ask the wife to help At this rate it's going to catch up with the fox jet, I won't know which to test first
Now I need to draw the pick up foot, That ring on the exit is a nice fit it really pulls things together and as it's a tight fit I could leave it unglued then If I want to try a reduced outlet it would be easy to swap. If it works well , I can see me building more as they are a lot quicker than doing a gearbox.

 

Took the parts to the club today, there was a lot of interest and questions. Nearly ready to do some painting.
There is oil in the bearing tube now.

Looks like a refund for the motor which leaves me stuck

 

So no motor for the maiden test?

 

It's got till 11pm tomorrow, which won't happen as it's Sunday. Then I should get a refund, then If it came on Monday I would have a free motor. But it looks like I might have to borrow one from another outboard if that's possible.
Just printing some different size wear rings so I can find the best one to use. Not sure how to glue the chamber now it's painted it could spoil the paint. Shall I use cyano or epoxy? Epoxy gives me more time to line it up.

 

CA can ruin the paint due to the white wash, so I would go for epoxy!

 

Very nice work I hope you get the motor soon! But the dog and fishes steal the show in this video...

 

I got the motor and put it in the jet fox first, great result, works better than I ever imagined.
