De Ogar, oude model met vernieuwing.

Hello from Germany

i have bought a bundle of RC planes and stuff.
And there is a front fuselage and the wings for an Robbe Ogar. Not buildt, no damage.
Someone on RCN (i can tell the nick) could produce the deep-drawn parts of the cowling and the canopy.

So if someone here is interested in these two Ogar Parts (wing and front fuselage)...call me.
I think the wing is not original, because the planking is not out of abachi, it looks like pine wood.
But they are well made, not heavy and stable. Both with spring loaded airbrakes/spoilers.
On one of the wings the planking has detached before the spoiler and behind. But the spoilers are sitting in a kind of frame, so gluing back the planking to the frame....littel bit grinding...done.

They are indeed not original, as the originals were all wood fully sheeted rib construction, and these ones are sheeted foam.

But that does not have to be a bad thing...

Oh, thanks for this info. Somehow i thought the originals were foam/abachi.
I build models since 35 years, so i can say this wings are really well made, and as already sayd they are light and strong.
I wonder how some people came to flight weights above 5kg???
I like this thing more and more ^^.

Built according to drawings, it will be about 5 kilo in fuel powered version.

Mine is about 5,6 because of the ignition system and the 450 grammes of ballast it needs to balance out. It can easily handle that weight.
The one that is subject of this thread is slightly over 4 kilo, mainly because the builder redesigned the wings to a very clever design, and a very well dimensioned electric drive.

But it really is a beautiful bird and it has a very elegant "Flugbild"...

Ik heb contact met iemand die een complete Ogar als oermodel heeft.
Dus een gespoten en gepolijste romp, vleugels, stabilo, motorkap en de mal voor de cockpit.
Klaar om een mal van te trekken en een vol gfk Ogar te maken.
Romp is kompleet met deelplaat.
Hij wil het verkopen.
Dus iemand interesse?

Noviteit is dat de vuren strips alleen de eerste meter gebruikt worden (ongeveer tot 2/3 van de vleugel), daarna is de triplex D-box sterk genoeg om zowel de torsie als de buigkrachten op te nemen.

Ik zat even wat oude draadjes over de Ogar door te lezen...
Wat ik grappig vond: in die video van NHnieuws die afgelopen zondag gemaakt is, was vrij duidelijk te zien dat bij de harde landing die je maakte, eigenlijk alleen de buitenste delen van de vleugels "doorbogen". Het deel waar de welfkleppen zitten bleef recht, en het deel waar de aillerons zitten boog door.
Vrij goed te zien dus, dat die vuren strips maar ongeveer een meter lang zijn.

Ja, die vleugeltip zwiepte flink door bij de landing, heb het in slowmotion zelf nog een paar maal met afgrijzen bekeken. Volgende keer aan denken meer snelheid te houden, nu deed de windgradiënt me de das om de laatste meter. Natuurlijk thuis de vleugels op beschadigingen gecheckt. Gelukkig niets te zien en het voelt nog sterk en stijf aan. Ook het scharnier van de wielophanging en de schokbreker nog op hun plek.
